Find clothes from a picture

Which pictures work best
Every line here comes from watching real images go through the tool, including the ones that came back wrong.
- One outfit, filling most of the frame
- A pin, a product shot or a mirror photo where the clothes are the subject. The read is of the clothes, so give it clothes to read.
- Crop tight
- The palette is read from the whole image. A wide sky, a plain wall or a beach behind the outfit pulls the colours toward the background, so trim the picture to the garments before you send it.
- Photos over drawings
- On an illustration the drawn background tends to take over the colour read. Mood, era and pattern usually survive being drawn; exact colours and garment type often do not. If it is a drawing, crop to the garment and expect a looser read.
- One pin at a time, not a grid
- A single image that contains a dozen small pins is read far less reliably than the same pins sent separately. Send the pins you have saved as individual images.
- More pictures sharpen it
- One image gives a real answer. Around ten give a clear one, because several images reveal the aesthetic underneath rather than one garment. You can add more at any time.
- Womenswear
- The catalog is womenswear. Shoes and bags have only just been added and are still rolling out, so a picture may still come back as clothes alone. There is no menswear, no swimwear and no jewelry.
